Bonang's Stylist To Judge New America's Next Top Model Season Hosted By Rita Ora

Tyra Banks' model-search show America’s Next Top Model will make its triumphant return to TV and move to VH1 this year — yeah it was canned when ratings plummeted after 12 years and 22 seasons spread between two networks.

News coming out of the US is that, Executive producer Tyra Banks told USA Today that the format of the show will change to better reflect the new kind of “top model” she’s looking for — a model and social media star hybrid.

“It’s no longer just about having the highest cheekbones and best pout and the best hair,” said Banks.
“My goal is to really get into these girls’ heads that I’m not looking for some successful model and I’m not looking for some social-media star. I’m looking for both. I’m looking for a hybrid, because that’s where the world is.”
Banks said she’ll only make “a couple of appearances” on the show, passing the hosting gig on to 25-year-old pop star Rita Ora.

Said Ora: “The approach I wanted to have as a host and judge to the girls is what my career stands for at this moment in time, which is being a businesswoman and being able to do multiple things at the same time, whether it’s music or shooting (magazine covers) and being in movies and designing clothes.”

BUT that's not what we care about here in Mzansi. Thanks to Bonang Matheba, South Africa
will now have a connection to the show via Matheba's stylist. The gentleman who was flown all the way from the US to style Bonang for this year's Metro FM Awards in Durban, Law Roach will be one of the judges.

Law Roach will be accompanied by model Ashley Graham [she made news recently as the first plus size model to be on the cover of Sports Illustration swimsuit edition — then she pulled a Jennifer Hudson and lost all that weight] and Paper magazine [that's the mag with the Kim Kardashian cover that broke the internet] CCO Drew Elliott on the  ANTM judging table.

Law has an impressive resumè having styled megastar Celine Dion and redcarpet A-listers such as Ariana Grande and Zendaya.

This of course serves as another international star cred nod for Matheba, who can now boast that she is styled by someone who works for Tyra Banks. Added to that, the show's international brand name and recognition will certainly elevate Roach's star power and this could be great for Matheba because she would have been one of the people that Roach will remember as his clients before the blow up.

Safe to say, Matheba will definitely have friends in high places should she make that rumoured move to the US.
