Phat Joe is joining Durban’s hit music station East Coast Radio (ECR), as of Monday, 15 August, to take KZN listeners home during the Daily Drive Time Show, from 15:00 to 18:00.
His unique presentation style, lip smacking radio charm, larger than life personality, and ability to connect with his audience, promises to bring a refreshing and renewed energy to the late afternoon slot.
“We are delighted to welcome Phat Joe to ECR’s daily line-up,” says Zane Derbyshire, programming manager. “At the station, we pride ourselves on our core of talented presenters who deliver world-class entertainment to our audience 24/7. The addition of a personality in the form of Phat Joe just takes us up another notch. We are looking forward to introducing him to our listeners from Monday.”
Never one to shy away from hot topics or making his voice heard in the public space, ECR listeners should ready themselves to spend an energetic, entertaining and invigorating three hours with the celebrated radio host from Monday to Friday.
“This is a really exciting opportunity for me. Not only will I get to chill in Durban, but I also get to interact with the cool listeners of East Coast Radio on a daily basis. I think we are going to have a lot of fun together,” says Phat Joe.
The station is excited at the opportunity to add Phat Joe as one of their big stars, as they welcome him to Durban on ECR’s Daily Drive Time Show.
“Our country is rich with talent and it is our mission at ECR to be part of this journey, to bring them to our ECR listeners. Listeners look to us to bring them variety and hit music as we lead into the summer season, with something new and fresh. Phat Joe continues to be one of South Africa’s favourites with his brave approach to keep listeners tuned-in. He is a great fit to our line-up, bringing a wealth of experience,” says Derbyshire.
As part of the latest line-up, Damon Beard will be in a new time slot, hosting his show from 9:00 to 12:00.
