FASHION: American touch behind Bonang's DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice look

When you reign supreme and have all the resources to back that up, you don't just go to a boutique to hire a dress to host an awards show, you fly a stylist in — and that's what Bonang did for her Dstv Mzansi Viewers Choice hosting gig.

Fans and viewers of Mzansi Magic were aghast at the array of gorgeous gowns South African superstar Bonang Matheba served them with as the host of the inaugural DstvMVCA on Saturday at a ceremony in Sandton, Johanesburg.

For her moment atop her thrown for this event, Matheba crossed oceans to make sure her glam game for the evening was unparalleled. In came New York based stylist, Harrison T. Crite, who pulled together some of the most prominent US designers to put together Matheba's looks for the night.

The glamorous star looked radiant in a stunning red two piece from Harper’s PR private collection which she paired with red thin strap sandals from Joyce Echols. Red definitely is her colour.

Seeing the picture below took me back to the red dress she wore at the SAMAs which also made her beam with an aura of glamour.

Her second look was  a shimmering ball dress by bespoke womenswear designer Zeina Nabulsi.

I thought I liked the red ensemble until I saw this pic of the green dress. The dress is by American designer, Michael Costello!

Then there was the tassel dress designed by Valdrin Sahiti.

My least favourite was this one by John Paul Ataker.
