Pamela Nomvete is returning to SA primetime television via Mzansi Magic


Prolific actress Pamela Nomvete is making a return to South African primetime television. Nomvete has joined the cast of Mzansi Magic hit drama series, Lockdown.

Former Generations star Pamela Nomvete will play Governor Deborah Banda on the new season of the show. 'Deborah' is described as a woman who holds a dark secret that only the walls of prison can handle.

Set in a fictional high security female prison, the Black Brain production which brought maximum drama delivered by authentic characters was a critically accalimed hit for Mzansi Magic.

Audiences and critics alike got enthralled in the fascinating backstories of the show's fascinating characters and the captivating performances of the cast.

Nomvete brings her juggernaut acting talent to this cast having been on hiatus from South African television for over a decade. In her absence from our screens after leaving Generations, Nomvete took to the stage to play opposite Joh Kani in the hot stage drama Nothing But The Truth.

She also starred in the UK's long running soap opera Coronation Street as Mandy Kamara from 2012 to 2013.

Catch Nomvete when Season 2 of Lockdown premieres on Mzansi Magic on Monday October 2nd.
