Verona Duwarka appointed as new CEO of Urban Brew Studios

Urban Brew Studios announced the appointment of Verona Duwarkah as its new CEO with immediate effect. Duwarkah, who has television and content production management experience, takes over from Richard Tsai who’s been the acting CEO since the beginning of the year. Tsai takes up the role of COO at Urban Brew Studios.

During her 26 year career in the media industry, Duwarkah has held various positions at the SABC, including general manager of strategic projects between 2007 and 2012 and group executive of SABC Television between 2012 and 2016. Duwarkah has also been a consultant and business manager at Cote Ouest.

Mark Harris, Kagiso Media Group CEO, says; 

We look forward to Verona sharing her experience, which spans various aspects of the business, including finance, TV channel management, content production management, strategy development, implementation and general and executive management. We welcome her to the Kagiso Media family and know she will be an asset.

Duwarkah adds,

The Johannesburg-based Urban Brew Studios' latest productions include #WTF Tumi, Tyres & Braaiers, E! Host, Break da Beat, and Top Chef South Africa. It also has productions like YOTV, Live AMP, and RGB under its banner.
